Hi there, my name is Jacqui Ward and I am a Tasmanian based emerging visual artist. I grew up in Sydney, moved to Hobart in 1987, fell in love and stayed. I studied ceramics for three years at Rosny College between having children and completed a Multi-media course in 1999 which led me to working at The Australian Antarctic Division,in the Multi-Media department, digitising the historic photograph collection.
In 2002, I moved to working at the Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery, in the area of imaging and copyright. During my time at the museum I have worked on many exhibitions, including
the major redevelopment of the buildings and revamping of its galleries.
In 2018 I completed a Fine Arts degree at UTAS and since then have participated in nine group exhibitions and three solo exhibitions. My artwork is stretched across many mediums. Photography, sculpture, ceramics, painting, poetry, film and sound. I love to create installations that are a cross over of science and art and speak to the problem of pollution in our oceans.
